About Us
Lola of North Beach is our dream come true. Before we met, we were both shopaholics. We each could spend all day going from store to store. That was fun for us. We loved retail so much that we both became assistant buyers at Macy’s where we met. We got married and even managed to have our reception at the Neiman Marcus Rotunda. We then spent a lot of time together just walking all around San Francisco stopping in any shop that looked interesting. We’d talk about opening a store together some day.
One day we found an open store front and decided to go for it. We didn’t know much about running a business back than except to fill it up with things we love and service customers better than any other stores we’ve been in.
That was September 2002 and every year since we have continued to shop everywhere to find the best things to put in our store. Inspiration comes from anywhere but most recently it’s been our three children. Starting a business in September 2002 was not easy and keeping it open through 2009 was just as challenging. But we’ve stuck with a formula of matching the best selection of merchandise inspired by our life in the Bay Area with friendly service.

You may return online purchases within 30 days of delivery for a full refund less shipping fees. We'll refund the shipping fees if there was an error on our part.
Credit Card Payments
Your credit card will not be charged if we don't have the item in stock. If we are out of stock on an item we will contact you with when we expect the item to be back in stock. We try to ship orders placed on Friday or Saturday the same day but may not be able to ship until Monday. We may not be able to ship to addresses not registered with your credit card. We will contact you if there is a non-registered shipping address problem.
Shipping
Allow approximately three to six business days for delivery via the US Postal Service or UPS Ground. For packages over one pound we often ship US Priority Mail which usually arrives within 2-3 business days. If the actual shipping is less than your checkout shipping total, than we will only charge you the lower actual shipping cost. Please call if you need an order rushed 415-781-1817. Orders placed over the weekend will ship the following Monday. We will contact you if any item on your order is out of stock before shipping. We may not be able to ship to addresses not registered with your credit card. We will contact you if there is a non-registered shipping address problem.
Gifts
Include a personal note in the Comments section during checkout and we'll gladly include a hand written note for any gifts free of charge. We remove all removable price tags for all orders and wrap most items in tissue also at no charge. Some items such as books have pre-printed prices which cannot be removed. If you would like an item gift wrapped there is a $5 service charge. Please note which items you would like wrapped together on your order. We will charge you $5 per gift bundle (for example: 3 candles wrapped together will be charged a $5 gift wrap fee. 3 candles wrapped individually will be charged $15). We will remove all removable price tags.
